Privacy policy

Last updated: 2026-10-16

This policy covers the The IT Guy app, run by Eric Hendricks. It’s plain language, not legal advice. The app page explains what the app is.

Who this is about #

The app is a self-hosted Postiz instance at postiz.itguyeric.com. I’m the only user. It connects only to my own YouTube channels. It doesn’t collect data from visitors or from anyone else.

What data the app accesses #

When I connect my Google account, I approve these scopes:

  • youtube, youtube.force-ssl, youtube.readonly and youtube.upload: manage my channel, read channel and video data, and upload and schedule my videos
  • youtubepartner: work with my channel through YouTube’s partner features
  • yt-analytics.readonly: read my channel analytics
  • profile, email and openid: show which Google account is connected

How I use it #

Only to run my own channel: upload and schedule videos, read channel and video data and analytics, and show the connected account. Nothing else.

Storage and sharing #

OAuth tokens are stored in the Postiz database on a server I own and run. I don’t share them, sell them, transfer them or use them for advertising. No human reads the data except me, working with my own account.

Google API Services User Data Policy #

The use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Revoking access and deleting data #

I can disconnect the channel in Postiz at any time, which removes the stored tokens. You can also revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. To ask about data, email eric@hendricks.life.

Changes #

If this changes, I’ll update the date at the top.
